Biography

Doug Hitchner begins his first year of coaching, after a four-year baseball career at Hopkins. Hitchner will work primarily with the catchers, as he served as the team[apos]s starting catcher for four consecutive season.

Hitchner finished his career at JHU with a .292 average, five home runs and 46 runs batted in. In 2002, his sophomore season, he was a Second Team All-Centennial selection after hitting .364 with two home runs and 21 runs batted in, while making no errors. Hitchner has a career fielding percentage of .992, making only five errors. He was touted as an outstanding blocker and reciever during his career.
