3.) to promote and provide opportunities for service and community involvement;
4.) to increase programming for student-athletes.

Johns Hopkins University Mentoring Program (JHUMP)
SAAC has teamed up with a local Baltimore City Charter School, Afya, to help promote education and health. Students from Afya come to JHU on a monthly basis for mentoring sessions, to play games, and to learn about a sport and college. JUMP fills a void in the student athlete experience and affords student athletes the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the community. Through the partnership with Afya, JUMP enables the Hopkins athletes to affect positives change in Baltimore by mentoring, developing friendships and playing sports with sports with inner city youth.

Johns Hopkins Student-Athlete Mentoring Program
The Johns Hopkins Student-Athlete Mentor (SAM) Program is an initiative led by student-athletes with the mission of integrating JHU first year student-athletes into the athletics department and campus community. Upperclassmen elect to become mentors to incoming first year student-athletes from a different team to build and strengthen the student-athlete community while supporting student-athletes in their transition to college. Mentor and mentee pairs will meet twice during the fall semester in JHU SAM sponsored events and informal check-ins are encouraged throughout the year. If you are interested in joining JHU SAM either as a mentee or mentor, contact:  hopkinssaac@gmail.com
