Conference Championships
In addition to 51 national championships, Johns Hopkins University has amassed 252 conference titles. The Johns Hopkins men's track team won the school's first conference title on record in 1923. Ironically, the men's track team also claimed the University's 250th conference crown on May 7, 2017!
Leading the way in the trophy count is the men's swimming team, which has won 35 conference titles, including an amazing streak of 28 consecutive championships from 1971-1998.
Several sports have seen truly dominating eras. Currently, the football and men's tennis teams have won 12 Centennial Conference titles since 2002, while the baseball (10), women's soccer (11), women's tennis (11), women's cross country (9) and women's outdoor track & field (8) teams all have at least eight conference titles to their credit during the same time period.
The 2013-14 academic year was a banner one for the Blue Jays as Johns Hopkins claimed a school record 14 conference titles. Hopkins won 12 Centennial Conference titles, one Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association title and one Eastern Women's Fencing Conference title. Highlighting the year were the men's and women's cross country and track & field programs, which combined for six conference championships. Hopkins nearly matched that feat in 2016-17 as the Blue Jays claimed 13 conference championships, led by the men's and women's cross country and track & field programs, which combined for five conference championships.
