Biography

At Hopkins: Will again platoon behind the plate with Doug Hitchner • had a breakthrough fall season and was one of the Blue Jays[apos] top hitters • has plenty of power • quickest of the catchers • has improved defensively • is much smoother with his hands • has gotten considerably stronger • rifle-like arm • battles at plate.

2003: Started 14 games and played in 22 overall • set career-highs in every major offensive category • batted .420 (21-for-50) with 10 runs, two doubles, three home runs and 17 RBIs • was 2-for-2 with two grand slams with the bases loaded and hit .500 (11-for-22) with runners in scoring position • fourth on the team with 10 two-out RBIs • went 4-for-4 with one RBI against William Penn on March 11 • was 1-for-3 with two runs and a grand slam versus Catholic on April 3 • drove in a career-high five runs and was 3-for-4 with a grand slam and three runs scored against Washington on April 14 • went 3-for-5 with two runs, three RBIs and a home run in a win over Villa Julie on April 16 • Centennial Academic Honor Roll.

2002: Played in 18 games making seven starts • collected four hits in 25 at-bats and scored five runs • hit first career home run, a two-run shot, in 12-1 win over Haverford March 30 • went 1-for-1 and scored a run versus Dickinson on April 12 • threw out three of five potential base stealers. 2001: Started four games and played in 15 overall • totaled three hits in 16 at-bats with one double, one run scored and one RBI • doubled in his only at-bat versus Case Western for his first career hit • went 1-for-2 with one RBI in a 6-1 win against Virginia-Wise • scored one run in an 11-2 win versus Lebanon Valley.

Personal: Also played football for one year at Urbana High School • all-area and all-conference performer for baseball • greatest thrill as a member of the Johns Hopkins baseball team was reaching the NCAA Regional Tournament the last two seasons • majoring in computer engineering.
