Biography

At Hopkins: Will be the #2 or #3 starter in the rotation • expected to take the next step to becoming a great pitcher • improved his velocity during the fall season • throws a variety of pitches with a lot of movement • has outstanding control • intelligent pitcher.

2002: Made nine starts and two relief appearances • posted 4-2 record and 3.91 ERA in 48.1 innings • allowed 52 hits and 15 walks while striking out 28 • struck out six in five shutout innings for first win of the season versus Chicago March 20 • pitched six shutout innings allowing just three hits while striking out seven to earn the win against Haverford March 30 • allowed one run on five hits in seven innings for win over Washington April 5 • gave up just one earned run in six innings to secure the win against Gettysburg on April 24 • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.

2001: Pitched in 11 games making four starts • posted a 5-2 record and 1.45 earned run average with two complete games and one shutout • was fourth on the team in innings pitched (49.2), third in strikeouts (40) and held opponents to a .216 batting average • struck out seven batters and did not allow an earned run for his first career victory against Virginia-Wise • followed that with five shutout innings against Johnson & Wales for his second victory • threw a three-hit shutout versus Washington College on April 4 and totaled five strikeouts • did not allow an earned run in his first five games, a total of 24.1 innings • allowed just two hits while striking out six in five innings for the win versus Villa Julie on May 4 • struck out seven and gave up just two runs in seven innings to pick up the win against Gwynedd-Mercy in the NCAA Tournament.

Personal: Also played basketball at Owings Mills High School • earned All-Division and team Most Valuable Player honors for baseball and basketball • hobbies include listening to music, reading and home decorating • lists winning consecutive Centennial Conference titles as his greatest thrill as a member of the JHU baseball team • a political science major.
