Did You Know: Scott Smith appeared on ESPN SportsCenter[apos]s Top-10 Plays one day after registering a pair of highlight reel, one-on-one saves against Syracuse standout Mike Powell in a 17-5 win during the regular season.

This Season: Talented goalie who provides the Blue Jays with an experienced backup.

2005: Served as the top backup goalie, played 23:46 and fashioned a 5.05 goals against average and a .667 save percentage • All action on the year came in a three-game stretch late in the season and was capped with a solid showing against Massachusetts in the NCAA Quarterfinals • Played 5:35 and posted three saves without allowing a goal against the Minutemen.

2004: Played in 14 games and earned 13 starts in goal • Posted an 8.13 goals against average and a .545 save percentage with 116 saves in 716 minutes of playing time • Finished 15th in the nation in goals against average • Made a point-blank save with five seconds remaining to preserve a 10-9 season-opening win over Penn • Allowed just four goals and made nine saves in nearly 56 minutes of action in a 14-5 win over Princeton • Made a then career-high 10 saves and allowed just four goals in 51 minutes during a 17-5 win over Syracuse • Matched the 10-save effort a week later in a 9-8 overtime loss at Virginia • Posted a career-best 15 saves in a 10-9 regular-season victory over North Carolina • 10 of his 15 saves against the Tar Heels came in the second half, when he allowed just four goals • Turned in a 12-save performance against UNC in the NCAA Quarterfinals, when he was making his first career playoff start.

2003: Served as the backup to Second Team STX/USILA All-American Rob Scherr • Played in eight games for a total of 37:46 and allowed just one goal while posting 13 saves • Finished season with a 1.59 goals against averaged and a sparkling .929 save percentage • Made first career appearance in a 14-5 win over Penn in early March • Did not allow a goal in first seven games before yielding one in the final minute of JHU[apos]s 19-8 win over Syracuse in the NCAA Semifinals • Played in two of JHU[apos]s four NCAA Tournament games.
