  • Title
    Offensive Assistant

Updated August 28, 2015

Back for his second season as a member of the Blue Jay coaching staff and first as an offensive assistant is Andy Laychur.  Laychur joined the staff last season as the defensive line coach.  He graduated from Johns Hopkins in May 2014 after a highly-successful four-year playing career for head coach Jim Margraff.

Laychur wasted little time making an impact as a member of the coaching staff as he coached a unit that produced the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year and two First Team All-Centennial Conference performers.  The defensive line fueled a unit that allowed just 15.2 points and 308.4 yards per game.

Laychur, who is enrolled in the Bloomberg School of Public Health, was a key member of the Johns Hopkins football team from 2010-13 and helped the Blue Jays to four straight Centennial Conference titles and three trips to the NCAA Playoffs.

Playing on a deep and talented defensive line, Laychur totaled 71 tackles, 15 tackles for losses and 12.0 sacks in his career. He capped his career in 2013 with 39 tackles, 7.0 tackles for losses and 4.5 sacks. He played in 30 games during his career, including all 11 as a senior.
