Entering his first season on the Blue Jay coaching staff is Sam Miller.  Miller will coach the Blue Jay running backs under the direction of offensive coordinator Alex Horvatits.

Miller comes to Johns Hopkins after spending one season as an assistant coach at Defiance College.  There, he coached the running backs, H-backs and punt return unit and was involved in all game-planning for the offense and special teams.  He was also responsible for the Yellow Jackets’ scout team defense and he coached one running back to All-HCAC honors.

In addition to his on-field coaching responsibilities at Defiance, Miller also served as the team’s video coordinator and handled recruiting responsibilities for Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Washington DC and parts of Ohio.

Miller played two seasons of football at Brevard College and two seasons at Southern Virginia University.  He graduated from Southern Virginia in 2021 and recently earned his master’s degree from Defiance.
