- The oldest of four children with younger siblings Tess, Bryn and Ellis.
- Father, Bruce, played football at Fordham.
- Grandmother, Lois Bowers, was the women's athletic director at Gettysburg and also coached, at various times, field hockey, swimming, basketball, lacrosse and volleyball there between 1969-1992. She led the Gettysburg field hockey team to the 1980 AIAW National Championship and was inducted into Gettysburg's Hall of Athletic Honor in 2002.
