One of the most successful quarterbacks in Johns Hopkins and Centennial Conference history, Robbie Matey is in his first season as a member of the Blue Jay coaching staff after graduating in May, 2014. He spent the summer playing professional football in Finland.

Matey, who will assist in all aspects of running the Blue Jays' high-octane spread offense, was JHU's starting quarterback in 2012 and 2013 and guided the Blue Jays to a 22-3 record, two Centennial Conference titles and two trips to the NCAA Playoffs. His 22 wins rank second in school history by a quarterback and his .850 winning percentage as a starter is the highest in JHU and Centennial Conference history. A

n Honorable Mention All-Centennial selection as a senior, Matey completed his career ranked among the top seven in school history in completions (3rd, 497), atttempts (6th, 707), yards (5th, 5,390), TD passes (T7th, 32) and completion percentage (1st, .703). As a senior he finished third in the nation in completion percentage (.726) and guided a Blue Jay offense that set school records for points (40.6) and yards (500.6) per game.
