Maczko joined the Johns Hopkins staff in 2013 after a solid playing career at Salisbury University, where he captained the Sea Gulls for two seasons.

Last season, the Blue Jays won a school-record 25 games, won the Centennial Conference regular season title and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16. In his first season on the staff, Hopkins won the Centennial Conference Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament with a 17-win season.

Maczko's career began at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he averaged 12.5 minutes per game and started three games before transferring to Salisbury. Maczko started every game of his career for Salisbury and captained the team as a junior and senior. He earned Second Team All-Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) honors as a senior after leading the team with 12.5 points (tied for 11th in the CAC) and 7.2 rebounds (tied for fourth in the CAC) per game. In his career with the Sea Gulls, Maczko averaged 11.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest and led the team in rebounding in each season.

Maczko is an assistant coach with Baltimore NIKE Elite 16U and works as a camp counselor at his alma mater John Carroll High School, as well as Hoop Group and Patterson Mill High School. He also spent four summers working at the Salisbury University Basketball Camp. Maczko graduated from Salisbury in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.
