Biography

Of Note
• Ranked as the #78 freshman in the nation by Inside Lacrosse in 2017.
• Ranked as the #19 freshman defenseman in the nation by Inside Lacrosse in 2017.


2021
- Co-captain.
- Played and started 12 of 13 games.
- Started the first nine games of the season before missing regular season finale against Maryland with an injury.  Returned in the B1G Quarterfinals at #19 Penn State.
- Had 10 ground balls and six caused turnovers on the year.
- Had three GBs and two CTs and helped limit Penn State’s Mac O’Keefe to just one goal when the teams were at even strength in a 15-7 win in the B1G Quarterfinals (O’Keefe added 1g and 1a on EMO).
- Helped lead defensive effort in a 12-10 Big Ten Semifinal win over #6 Rutgers with one ground ball and one caused turnover.  RU entered the game averaging more than 15 goals per game.
- Anchored JHU defensive showing in a 12-10 loss to top-ranked Maryland in the B1G title game - Terps entered game averaging more than 16 goals per game.


2020
- After battling injuries for first three seasons, emerged as a starter in all six games on close defense.
- Made first career start in 15-7 season-opening win against Towson.
- Picked up one ground ball and had one caused turnover on the year.


2019
- Did not see any game action.


2018
- Played in two games on the year.
- Made first career appearance in an 18-7 win at Syracuse and also played against UMBC.
- Did not record any statistics on the year.


2017
- Did not see any game action due to an injury.
- Retained year of eligibility.


Personal
- John Lyne.
- The son of Blair and Tracy Lyne.
- Has one older sister, Clare.
- Father, Blair, played lacrosse at Bowdoin and earned Third Team USILA All-America honors in 1983.
- Sister, Clare, played lacrosse and field hockey at Trinity (CT) and was a three-time IWLCA All-American and the 2017 Division III Attacker of the Year.  She helped guide the Bantams to four trips to the final four and three national runner-up finishes 
- Majoring in international studies.
