Biography

2009: Started all 15 games on close defense and had 23 ground balls and a team-high 20 caused turnovers on the year • Fueled a Blue Jay defense that allowed an average of just 8.7 goals per game during seven-game winning streak late in the season - JHU allowed 10.7 goals per game through the first seven games of the season • JHU defense held the opposition scoreless for a stretch of 11 minutes or longer 25 times on the season • Fueled a JHU defense that held Hofstra scoreless for more than 11 minutes three different times • Solid in JHU[apos]s overtime loss at North Carolina as he had a career-high five ground balls and one caused turnover • Forced three turnovers in the win over Albany and grabbed three ground balls and forced a season-high five turnovers in a 10-9 win over Maryland • Grabbed three ground balls and added a pair of caused turnovers against Navy • Fueled effort that held Mount St. Mary[apos]s scoreless for more than 20 minutes to end the game.

2008: Played in all 17 games on defense and got the start eight times (Matt Bocklet was the starter, but played the wing on faceoffs ... DeVore is credited with the start as he opened the game on close defense) • Had six ground balls on the year and saw increased playing time as the season progressed • Key contributor to a defense that was solid against the opposition[apos]s starting attack • In 17 games the starting attack units the Blue Jays faced totaled just 55 goals and 29 assists (an average of 4.94 points per game) • JHU also finished 19th in the nation in scoring defense after ranking as low as 49th at one point in early April.

2007: Talented freshman defenseman played in 15 games • Saw increased playing time as the season unfolded and grabbed three ground balls on the year • Increased playing time coincided with JHU[apos]s season-ending nine-game winning streak • Key member of a JHU man-down unit that showed steady improvement throughout the season and allowed just four EMO goals on 17 chances in the NCAA Tournament (.235) • Entering the NCAA[apos]s the opposition had cashed in on 17-of-43 (.395) opportunities.

At Ward Melville: Three-year varsity letter winner in lacrosse at perennial power Ward Melville • Helped team to three straight appearances in the county championship game • Garnered all-league honors as a sophomore, all-county honors as a junior and Honorable Mention All-America honors as a senior • Lacrosse team compiled a 47-10 record in his three varsity seasons • Earned two varsity letters in volleyball and helped team to a county championship while earning all-league honors.
