Biography

2009: Played briefly in season-opening victory against Siena before missing the remainder of the season with an injury.

2008: Played in 16 games with one start (Navy-RS) on attack and had five goals and one assist to his credit • Saw first action of the season against Princeton and came up with two ground balls and scored his first goal of the season against UMBC • Goal against the Retrievers capped a 3-0 run that turned a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 lead • Gave JHU a 12-11 lead late in the fourth quarter against Virginia when he scored off an assist from Paul Rabil • Assisted on a Michael Doneger goal just seven seconds into the third quarter against Navy and added a goal in the win over Mount St. Mary[apos]s • Jump-started game-turning 6-0 run in the second half against Loyola with an unassisted goal midway through the third quarter • Scored the third goal in a six-goal run to fuel the 10-4 win at Navy in the NCAA Quarerfinals.

2007: Reserve attackman who played in 14 games with one start to his credit • Fired home five goals and added two assists for seven points and grabbed six ground balls on the year • Started the season-opener against Albany and tallied one assist • Added goals against UMBC and North Carolina and an assist against Mount St. Mary[apos]s before igniting JHU[apos]s run to the national championship with three goals in the NCAA Tournament • Punched home perhaps the key goal in the win over Georgetown in the NCAA Quarterfinals as his unassisted goal midway through the second quarter came after JHU had killed a three-minute non-releasable penalty and gave JHU a 4-1 lead • Georgetown was never closer than three goals again • Ignited the Blue Jays in the NCAA Semifinals against Delaware with an unassisted goal late in the third quarter that started a 5-0 run that put the game away • Capped stirring run in the NCAAs with a second-quarter goal in the NCAA Championship game against Duke that fueled an 8-2 run that gave JHU a 10-4 halftime lead.

2006: Played in 11 games with three starts on attack • Quietly finished seventh on the team in points (10) and tied for seventh in goals (8) • Added 10 ground balls, one extra-man goal and one game-winning goal • All 10 points came during a six-game span from early April through the middle of May • Missed first three games of the season with an injury and was held scoreless for first four career games • Broke out with a three-goal, one-assist effort in a 19-6 win over Mount St. Mary[apos]s • Scored an extra man goal against Maryland and tallied a third-quarter goal against Navy that tied the game at 7-7 • Matched career-high with three goals and had a personal-best four ground balls in a 13-3 win over Penn in the the NCAA Tournament.

At Christian Brothers: Second leading scorer in the history of boy[apos]s lacrosse in the state of New Jersey with 253 goals and 178 assists for 431 points • Earned All-America honors along with first team all-state and first team all-conference as a senior • Asbury Park Press Boy[apos]s Lacrosse Player-of-the-Year in 2005 and a three-time team MVP • Led team to the 2005 Shore Conference Championship.

Personal: Thomas P. Duerr • The son of Charles and Kathleen Duerr • Older brother, Bill, played lacrosse at Marist and played against JHU in the first round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament • Born March 17, 1986 • Anthropology major.
