Alexis Colbert joined the Johns Hopkins women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in September 2023.
 
Colbert comes to Hopkins after serving as an Assistant and Interim Head Coach at the University of Bridgeport from 2021-2023 where she primarily worked on team and player development as well as recruitment and scouting. Prior to her time at UB, Colbert was the Director of Basketball Operations with the New England Trailblazers — a semi-professional women’s basketball team based in Massachusetts — in 2021.
 
A four-year player at Long Island University (Post) from 2010-2014, Colbert eclipsed 1,000 points for her career and holds the Sharks’ single season assist record. Her accolades include being named the University’s Newcomer of the Year in 2011 as well as earning spots on the All-ECC and All-Met Second Teams after leading the program to its first ever Sweet 16 in her senior season.
 
Following her undergraduate career, Colbert served as a University of Connecticut Basketball Camp Coach in 2014 and more recently a Sports Academy Coach for the San Antonio Spurs starting in 2022. A Content Operator at ESPN from 2016-2023, Colbert was also a member of the company’s Diversity and Inclusion and ESPN Women groups.
 
Colbert graduated from LIU (Post) in 2015 with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism.
