First Day at Johns Hopkins: August 2, 2021
Joe Alexander came to Johns Hopkins in August 2021 after spending the previous two years as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Lycoming College. There, he oversaw and developed a program for the school's 17-sport athletic program. Alexander was the first person to serve full-time in this role at Lycoming and his efforts included long-term planning to build unique programming for each Lycoming team; he also spearheaded future planning for facility enhancements.
In addition to his time at Lycoming, Alexander spent two years at both Towson University (2017-19 / assistant strength and conditioning coach) and Nova Southeastern University (2015-2017 / Graduate Assistant). At nearby Towson, he managed all strength and conditioning activities for five Division I programs and assisted with football and men's basketball. He also gained valuable experience working during the summer of 2014 (Richmond), 2015 (South Carolina) and 2016 (University of Miami) with FBS and FCS football programs.
Alexander graduated from Salisbury University with a degree in exercise science and later earned his master's in health science from Nova Southeastern.
