First Day at Johns Hopkins:
July 15th, 2025
Brooke Swift enters her second season with the women’s basketball program after helping lead the Blue Jays to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament and the Centennial Conference Championship game in her first season with the program (2025-26).

Under Swift’s leadership, the Blue Jays have been crowned Centennial Conference regular-season champions once, including a historic 2025-26 season which saw Hopkins finish with a program-best 27 wins, and the first undefeated regular-season in program history.

Since joining the Blue Jay women’s basketball program, Swift has played a key role in the development of one CSC Academic All-American. In addition, one player earned D3Hoops.com All-Regions honors, while four student-athletes earned All-Conference, including two first team selections and a Rookie of the Year nod.

She arrived at Homewood with a deep resumé as both a player and coach, having held positions at several NCAA institutions. She served as an assistant coach at Austin College (Sherman, TX), a Division III program, where she spent two seasons (2023-25). There, she played an integral role in the team’s turnaround—helping the 'Roos secure back-to-back nine-win seasons after inheriting a 1-24 squad that had gone winless in conference play the year prior.

Before her time at Austin College, Swift spent two seasons (2021-23) as a graduate assistant at Converse University, where she contributed to the rebuilding of the Valkyries’ women's basketball program and was involved in all aspects of coaching and player development.

From 2019 to 2021, Swift served as an assistant coach at Colorado College, helping guide the Tigers to their first-ever Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship game appearance. During her tenure, she played a key role in the development of the 2021 SCAC Player of the Year, the 2021 SCAC Newcomer of the Year and three All-Conference honorees.

A 2018 graduate of Southwestern University, Swift began her coaching career at her alma mater, returning as an assistant coach for the 2018-19 season. She helped develop two All-Conference players during that time.

As a player at Southwestern, Swift was a standout point guard and team captain. She helped lead the Pirates to the 2015 SCAC Championship and a runner-up finish in 2018. Off the court, she excelled academically, earning the Director of Athletics Academic Excellence Award twice and receiving SCAC Academic Honor Roll recognition in back-to-back seasons.

Swift holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English from Southwestern University and a Master of Liberal Arts from Converse University.
