Butler joined the Johns Hopkins program in February, 2022, taking over the position of Throws coach. Butler competed at the collegiate level for Morgan State where he ranks third in the shot put and the javelin. Competing in high school, Butler earned All-County honors, was a three time county & regional champion and won two state titles in the shot put.Â
After college, Butler took a few years away from the sport to follow his entrepreneurial interests, but never lost his passion for the sport. During his time away, he studied explosive training, calisthenics and body movement and hopes to bring explosive and heavy technique training to grow the throws program at JHU.Â
