Kelly Mannix serves as the day-to-day point of contact for fiscal and human resource management within the Johns Hopkins Department of Athletics and Recreation. She oversees more than 100 individual budgets within the department and works closely with Homewood Student Affairs leadership to ensure budget and business operations are properly aligned within the overall division. In addition, Mannix also has oversight of the department's equipment and front office administrative operations and serves as the sport administrator for Johns Hopkins' highly-successful volleyball program.
 
Mannix came to Homewood after a seven-year stint at Amherst College. She joined the Amherst staff in July 2016 as the Athletic Department Business Manager and in December 2018, was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations. Mannix managed the annual operating budget for the department by monitoring all operational sport and department budgets, as well as assisting the Athletic Director in managing endowments, fundraising accounts, and reserves. She was also responsible for monitoring all purchases and expenditures, as well as daily business operative tasks for the department.
 
Mannix served as the department liaison to the Offices of HR and DEI for all employee searches, hiring and onboarding activities. In addition, she liaised with several campus partners, including the Finance Office, IT, Controllers' Office, Procurement, Dining Services and Facilities.
 
Prior to Amherst, Mannix spent the 2015-16 year at Adelphi University, where she served as the graduate assistant for the Business Office in the Athletics Department. In that role, she handled all team travel accommodations and assisted the Business Manager in managing budgets and spending. During her time at Adelphi, Mannix earned a Master's of Business Administration with a concentration in sports management.
 
A 2015 graduate of Adelphi with an undergraduate degree in business management, Mannix was a four-year member of the women's basketball team, serving as a captain her senior year and leading the squad to the school's first-ever Northeast-10 Championship. Mannix ranked sixth on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,429 career points when she graduated. During her senior year she was named a COSIDA Academic All-American and the ECAC Division II Female Scholar Athlete of the Year.
