Philip Bernstein

Bernstein brings a strong playing background to Johns Hopkins, having excelled at both the NCAA Division I and III levels. Most recently, he was a two-year starter at the University of Richmond under Mulberg, appearing in 104 games and making 103 starts. He slashed .332/.439/.455, totaling 129 hits, 83 RBIs, 30 doubles, six home runs and 67 walks, helping lead Richmond to an Atlantic-10 runner up finish in 2024 and earned Atlantic-10 Academic All-Conference honors twice. He was also named to the 2024 Jewish Baseball News All-America Team.
 
"Coach Mulberg was a huge influence on my development as both a player and a person, and I am thrilled to continue working alongside him in this new role," said Bernstein. "I'm excited to bring the same dedication and passion to the vision he and the rest of the staff have for this new era of Hopkins baseball."
 
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Bernstein works as a Client Executive in the insurance sector. As a student-athlete, he played four seasons at Hamilton College where he was a three time All-Conference and All-Region selection. Bernstein also earned the 2023 Milton H. Jannone Award for his excellence in athletics, leadership and academics at Hamilton. For the Continentals, he slashed .376/.466/.522 in 84 appearances, making 83 starts. He compiled 121 hits, including 53 RBIs, 18 doubles, seven home runs and scored 101 runs.
 
Bernstein earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Hamilton and a Master of Arts from the University of Richmond.
