Harbeson Gains UAA Swimmer of the Year Honors: For the second consecutive year, Johns Hopkins sophomore Stephanie Harbeson (Harriman, NY/The Peddie School (NJ)) claimed UAA Swimmer of the Year honors as she won two individual events, helped one relay team to a first-place finish, and fueled two other relays to second-place finishes. Harbeson won the 200 free with an NCAA "A" qualifying and UAA record time of 1:53.77 and added a first-place finish in the 500 free with an NCAA "A" standard time of 5:01.19. She also swam the anchor leg of the Blue JaysÕ first-place 800 free relay team, which also automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships with a UAA-record time of 7:43.96. Harbeson was also a member of the second-place 200 free relay (1:39.12/NCAA "B" qualifying time) and the second-place 400 medley relay (3:56.77/NCAA "A" qualifier).

Collins Claims UAA Diver of the Year: Senior Lindsay Collins (Durango, CO/Durango) made the selection of the 2001 UAA Diver of the Year rather simple as she easily won both the one and three-meter dives at the championships. Collins, who has qualified for the NCAA Championships on both boards, won the one-meter event with a score of 393.1 and came back to win the three-meter with a score of 456.15. She won the one-meter by over 30 points and claimed the three-meter title by over 40 points.

Lewis Sweeps to UAA Diver of the Year Honors: Senior Kris Lewis (Denton, TX/Denton) will lead the Johns Hopkins men into the NCAA Championships fresh off a sweep of the one and three-meter dives as the UAA Championships. Lewis won the three-meter dive with a score of 484.40 and added the individual title in the one-meter with a score of 468.15. He was at his best in the three-meter as he finished nearly 60 points ahead of the runner-up en route to claiming UAA Diver of the Year honors.

Brinsley Excels: While Harbeson and Collins walked away with the individual honors, junior Krissy Brinsley (Avon, IN/Avon) also picked up a pair of individual titles and should once again make an impact for the Blue Jays at the NCAA Championships. Brinsley won the 100 back (58.55) and the 200 back (2:05.87) with times that both met NCAA "A" qualifying standards and set UAA records as well., while senior Lindsay Collins placed first in the one-meter dive with a score of 393.1. Both BrinsleyÕs time and CollinsÕ score are UAA records, while BrinsleyÕs time also met NCAA "A" qualifying standards. Brinsley also placed second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.16, which automatically qualifies her for the NCAA Championships. She also swam the third leg of the Blue JaysÕ first-place 800 free relay team, which also automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships with a UAA-record time of 7:43.96. Brinsley was also a member of the second-place 200 free relay (1:39.12/NCAA "B" qualifying time) and the second-place 400 medley relay (3:56.77/NCAA "A" qualifier).
