WESTMINSTER, MD - The Johns Hopkins volleyball team defeated McDaniel, 3-0 on Wednesday night in Westminster, Maryland. The Blue Jays took all three games by scores of 30-28, 30-16 and 30-11. JHU improves to 4-1 in conference play and 17-6 overall.
Hopkins was able to hang on for the win in game one and then pulled away in each of the last two games. Junior setter Betsy Baydala (Rockville Centre/South Side) set the pace for Blue Jays with 41 assists, while adding 12 digs. Senior outside hitter Stephanie Kaliades (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) continued her solid play by recording a team high 16 kills.
Sophomore outside hitter Kate O'Callaghan (Babylon, NY/West Babylon) and freshman libero Lizzie Kay (Pacific Palisades, CA/The Cate School) combined for 25 digs in the win.
The Blue Jays return to action when they host a tri-match with Muhlenberg and Bryn Mawr beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16th.
