Junior guard Kevin Marquez (Oakton, VA/Oakton) hit a three-pointer to open the scoring, and senior forward Steve Adams (Butler, PA/Butler) added a free throw and a lay-up to make it a 6-0 game at the 17:47 mark.

After Blaine converted a lay-up, senior forward Jay Kreider (Sykesville, MD/River Hill) nailed a three-pointer to give Hopkins an 11-0 advantage. The Blue Jays extended their lead to 23-4 on a three-pointer by sophomore forward Marc Leone (Radnor, PA/Radnor) at the 6:00 mark and led 27-12 at halftime.

McDaniel cut the deficit to 31-21 with 17:03 remaining on two free throws by Jon Pearson, but the Blue Jays responded with a 9-0 spurt to take a 40-21 lead with 13:09 to play. Senior guard Brendan Kamm (Avon, NJ/Somerville) opened the run with a three-pointer, and after Blaine followed with a dunk, sophomore forward Eric Toback (Ellicott City, MD/Mount Hebron) and Marquez each scored baskets to make it a 19-point game. The Green Terror could get no closer than 13 the rest of the way.

Leone finished with nine points while Kreider added eight points and nine rebounds for Hopkins, which held a 49-26 rebounding advantage and shot 51.1 percent from the field. McDaniel, which shot just 25.4 percent, was led by Adam Hynes, who finished with a game-high 19 points and pulled down six rebounds.
