Baltimore, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's basketball team held Gettysburg to just six first-half points en route to an easy 60-36 win over the Bullets in men's basketball action Wednesday night at Goldfarb Gymnasium.

After Hopkins led 22-6 at the half, Gettysburg cut the lead to 14 twice early in the second half but could get no closer as the Blue Jays built as much as a 26-point lead in the win.

JHU, which improved to 14-5 overall and 5-3 in the Centennial Conference, scored the game's first five points on a lay-up by senior center Mike Blaine (Washington, DC/Bishop Ireton), a jumper by senior forward Steve Adams (Butler, PA/Butler), and a free throw by senior guard Brendan Kamm (Avon, NJ/Somerville). The Bullets finally got on the scoreboard when Todd Brady hit a jumper at the 11:35 mark of the half, but lay-ups by senior forward Jay Kreider (Sykesville, MD/River Hill) and Blaine pushed the Hopkins lead to 9-2 with 7:34 left.

After a basket by the Bullets' Dami Oloruntoba, JHU sophomore forward Marc Leone (Radnor, PA/Radnor) hit a three-pointer, freshman forward Frank Mason (Silver Spring, MD/Barrie School) scored a lay-up, and freshman guard Chris Fleisher (Chappaqua, NY/Horace Greeley) hit a lay-up to give the Blue Jays a 16-4 advantage with 4:32 remaining in the half.

Eric Fromm scored for Gettysburg at the 2:18 mark, but Hopkins answered with baskets by Kreider and Adams, followed by two free throws by Kreider, to take the 16-point lead into the break.

The Blue Jays extended their lead in the second half, leading by at least 21 over the final 10:34 of the game.

Adams led a balanced JHU attack with 11 points and six rebounds, while Kreider, Kamm, and Mason each added nine points. Blaine recorded six points, six rebounds, and a game-high four assists for the Blue Jays, who allowed the fewest points since a 67-36 win at Western Maryland on February 13, 2002.

Brady and Graham Shaffer-Rais each scored five points for the Bullets, who fell to 10-10 overall and 6-2 in the league.

The Blue Jays return to action Saturday when Hopkins hosts Muhlenberg at 4 p.m.
