Blue Jays Fall To College Of New Jersey, 3-0

Ewing, NJ - Three different Lions players scored goals as the No. 1 College of New Jersey field hockey team defeated Johns Hopkins, 3-0, Thursday night at Lions' Stadium.

Allison Greene put TCNJ on the board 8:03 into the game by deflecting home a shot by Lauren Wooster, and Colleen Stamler made it a 2-0 game by scoring off a pass from Danielle Bechtel with just six seconds remaining in the first half.

Jessica Berkowitz scored an unassisted goal with 16:36 left in the game to account for the final margin.

JHU sophomore goalkeeper Meredith Shifman (South Orange, NJ/Columbia) made eight saves for the Blue Jays, while sophomore midfielder Meighan Roose (Baltimore, MD/York-ME) made a defensive save, her fourth of the year. Kristina Beyel made three saves in 62:17 of action for the Lions, who improved to 5-0 this season.

Junior midfielder Anna Rehwinkel (Princeton Junction, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro), senior midfielder Ashlee Duncan (Easton, MD/Easton), and senior forward Jenny Farrelly (Clinton Township, NJ/North Hunterdon) each recorded a shot for Hopkins, which fell to 1-2 on the season.

The Blue Jays will look to bounce back Saturday when they host Washington & Lee at 4:30 p.m. at Homewood Field.
