Baltimore, MD - The Johns Hopkins field hockey team used goals by sophomore Leah Dudley (Westborough, MA/Westborough) and junior Catie Kappel (Pittsburgh, PA/Sewickley Academy) to down the Generals of Washington & Lee in Field Hockey 2-0. The Blue Jays are now 1-2 on the year.
Dudley put the Blue Jays on the board when she scored in 15th minute. The goal was assisted by Meighan Roose (Baltimore, MD/York). Dudley's goal would prove to be the game-winner. In the second half the Blue Jays put the game away when Kappel scored off a feed from Jamie Zubrow (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) in the 56 minute.
Blue Jay goalkeeper Merdeith Shifman (South Orange, NJ/Columbia) was strong in goal for the Blue Jays picking up the shutout victory.
