BALTIMORE, Md. - ? Junior Brittany Elliott (Delmar, DE/Delaware) scored the only four goals in the first half to lead the Sea Gulls of Salisbury over Johns Hopkins, 6-0. The top-ranked Sea Gulls improve to 6-0, while the Blue Jays fall to 2-3 on the young season.
Elliott did all her damage in the first half, scoring goals at the 29, 31, 35 and 40-minute marks. All of the goals came off rebounds in which she collected, and found the back of the net. In the second half, senior Melissa Webster (Dear Island, MD/Washington) blasted a shot past Blue Jay goalkeeper Meredith Shifman (South Orange, NJ/Columbia), off a penalty corner, to push the lead to five. Senior Erin Budd (Delmar, DE/Delmar) added Salisbury?s last goal off a beautiful feed by Danielle Twilley (Laurel, DE/Delmar).
The Sea Gulls dominated all statistical categories, out-shooting the Blue Jays 19-0, and attempting 11 penalty corners, while the Blue Jays only took two.
The Blue Jays will travel to St. Mary?s on Saturday, while Salisbury will host McDaniel on the 21st.
