UNIVERSITY PARK, PA - The #9 Johns Hopkins University women's lacrosse team (11-3, 3-2) could not hold off an upset-minded Penn State (8-8, 4-1) team on Senior Day on Saturday afternoon. The #20 Nittany Lions battled back for a 15-14 win at Jeffrey Field in American Lacrosse Conference action. Junior Mary Key (Stevensville, MD/St. Mary's) tied the Hopkins Division I career points record when she notched her 253rd career point.

Sophomore Kadie Stamper (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright) gave Hopkins an early lead with her 18th of the season just 2:49 in. Key fed Stamper who beat Cammie Jurkowsky up high stick-side. Penn State answered at 4:25 when Aly Carter picked up a loose ball and beat senior Lauren Riddick (Crozet, VA/St. Anne's-Belfied). The Blue Jays scored back-to-back goals off Key and sophomore Annie Wagner (Annapolis, MD/St. Paul's) to take a 3-1 lead.

The Nittany Lions rallied with five unanswered to take a 6-3 lead. It was then the Blue Jays turn for a five-goal rally, kick started by Stamper's second of the day. Senior Meagan Voight (Sykesville, MD/Liberty) scored her first of the game to cut the Lions' lead to one. Just over a minute later, junior Steph Janice (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) scored to tie the game.
