Box Score

CARLISLE, PA - Dickinson's Brooke Muller hit a jumper with 24 seconds remaining to lift the Red Devils to a 68-65 victory over the Johns Hopkins women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Jays (2-5, 1-3 CC) lost their second straight contest and fourth overall on the road this season.

A second-half comeback for the Red Devils did not look possible as Hopkins held a 61-42 lead with 6:41 to go in the game. That lead was courtesy of a 27-10 run to start the second half for the Blue Jays. Hopkins received eight points from junior Kristin Phillips (Wilmington, DE/Tower Hill) and six points from sophomore Britni Lonesome (Baltimore, MD/Polytech) during the run. The Blue Jays held Dickinson without a basket for nearly seven minutes to take control. However, a pair of free throws by Laura Houseal with 5:46 to go started a 25-4 run for Dickinson to complete the comeback and collect the win. The Red Devils received five points from Houseal and seven from Muller to fuel the spree. The Blue Jays were once again plagued by turnovers as 13 Blue Jay miscues in the final 5:40 of the game contributed to the loss.

Hopkins jumped out to a 6-2 lead to begin the game after a jumper by junior Jonay Foster (Chicago, IL/Oak River Park Forest) at 16:25. Dickinson responded by scoring 20 of the next 35 points to hold a 22-21 lead with 8:02 to go in the first half. Hopkins answered with a 14-8 run to close the half and take a 34-32 lead into the locker room. Senior Andrea Dodrill (Baltimore, MD/Bryn Mawr) scored four points to fuel the Blue Jays run.

Houseal finished with 19 points and six rebounds to lead the Red Devils. Muller posted 13 on the day, including the game-winner.

Dodrill posted her third double-double of the season with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Phillips contributed her second double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 boards.

Hopkins is now off until January 4, when the Blue Jays travel to New York City. Hopkins is set to take on NYU at 6:00 p.m. that night.
