Hopkins ended the run and cut the deficit to just one with 14:56 to play in the half off a Lauren Schwarzmann (Sykesville, MD/Century) goal. Schwarzmann picked up a loose ball to the right of the Wildcats cage, curled around it and fired a low shot past Lathrop. Back-to-back goals by Nielsen however and the Wildcats were leading 6-3 with 6:48 to play. Schwarzmann closed out the scoring in the first half, scoring her second of the night on a free position shot to make it 6-4 heading into the break.

Schwarzmann, running down the middle, found a wide-open Nolan near the left goal post. Nolan fired a shot to the right post that eluded Lathrop.
