ALLENTOWN, PA - Muhlenberg's Tara Cohn scored just 32 seconds into overtime to hand sixth-ranked Johns Hopkins its first Centennial Conference loss of the season, 1-0 on Saturday. The Blue Jays slip to 13-2 overall and 6-1 in the Centennial while the Mules improve to 6-8 overall and 3-4 in the conference.
After two scoreless halves in which Hopkins outshot Muhlenberg 9-2 and had 25 corners to the Mules five the two teams headed for overtime. And it didn't take long for the Mules to get on the board as Cohn collected Cara Rothacker's pass and lifted a high shot over junior Sophia Tieu (Cupertino, CA/Cupertino).
Tieu finished with one save on two shots while Mules goalie Michelle Consiglio made seven saves to earn the shutout. The loss is just the fourth ever for the Blue Jays to the Mules and the first since 2004.
Hopkins returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 25 when it visits Bryn Mawr for a 1:00 pm Centennial Conference match.
