LANCASTER, PA - The Johns Hopkins volleyball team's streak of 17 consecutive regular season conference victories was snapped Wednesday night as it fell to Franklin & Marshall, 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 23-25, 24-26).
With the victory, the Diplomats claimed the driver's seat in the Centennial Conference by pushing their record to 4-0, while the Blue Jays fell to 3-1 in the conference.
F&M gained the early advantage by taking the first set, 25-21, after opening the bout to a four-point lead late in the frame. Hopkins (18-2) answered, however, as it opened up a 17-8 advantage in the second set before winning, 25-18.
The Diplomats then used a 10-2 run to take the third set, 25-23, before vanquishing the Blue Jays in a perilously close final set, 26-24.
Freshman Jasmine Warmington led Hopkins with 14 kills, while Megan Schwarz had a team-high 15 digs. Sydney Seydel had 19 kills for F&M, as Caroline Hubbard notched 39 assists.
Hopkins looks to get back on track with a double-header on Saturday, October 6 as it squares off against Ursinus and Hood.
