Haverford Shuts Out Johns Hopkins, 2-0

HAVERFORD, PA - Host Haverford scored a goal in each half to beat Johns Hopkins, 2-0, in Centennial Conference field hockey action Saturday afternoon. The Blue Jays slip to 5-7 overall and 3-3 in the conference while the Fords improve to 6-5 overall and 2-3 in the CC.

Catherine Aronowitz scored what proved to be the game-winner just 19:12 into the game. Megan Holt took a penalty corner for the Fords, sending the ball to Aronowitz, who put it home for the first of her two on the afternoon. She then scored at 51:25 to stake Haverford to a 2-0 lead, scoring off a Bryn Bissey assist.

Sophomore Zoey Atabek finished with three saves for the Blue Jays while Lindsey Lopes made four to earn the win for the Fords. Hopkins outshot Haverford, 23-10, and had more corners, 13-10.

Hopkins returns to action on Wednesday, October 16 to host Dickinson at Homewood Field. The Centennial Conference tilt is slated for a 7:00 pm start.
