? The Short Story: A strong defensive effort by host and 13th-rank Bucknell was the difference as the Bison beat the Johns Hopkins water polo team, 9-4, on Sunday morning. The Blue Jays split the season series with the Bison as they fall to 12-6 on the season and 3-2 in the CWPA.
How it Happened
? Bucknell pushed out to a three-goal lead after giving up a pair of five-meter goals in the game's first eight and a half minutes.
? Hopkins got on the board with back-to-back goals from junior Matt Fraser and freshman Josh Kurtz, to make it a 3-2 game with 1:10 to play in the half. Bucknell would tack one more on before the horn to go up 4-2 at the half.
? The Bison scored the first three goals of the third quarter to jump out to a 7-2 lead with 3:37 to go. Junior Giovanni Cragnotti ended the run with a goal at the 1:44-mark, but the Bison's Nate Hunter pushed the lead back to five just over a minute later.
? Hunter opened the fourth-quarter scoring and the lead was six with five minutes still to play. Junior Bret Pinsker got one back for the Blue Jays, but that's as close as they would get.

Johns Hopkins is now 23-41 all-time against Bucknell and has lost four straight in Lewisburg to the Bison.
