• The Short Story: All the scoring game in the game's first 34 minutes as the Johns Hopkins field hockey team beat host Swarthmore, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference action. Three different players scored for the Blue Jays with sophomore

How it Happened
• Johns Hopkins jumped on top of Swarthmore early, scoring two goals in a six-minute span. Sophomore Morgan Pothast put the Blue Jays on the board first, just 11:11 into the contest, off an Austin Davis pass. Less than six minutes later, junior Bridget Hampton doubled Hopkins' lead with her second of the season.
• Freshman Megan Ophel got her second of the season at the 33:31-mark, with the assist going to Pothast, to stake Hopkins to a 3-0 lead.
• Just 20 seconds later, Swarthmore got on the board with an Erin Gluck goal off a penalty corner.
What it Means
• Johns Hopkins is now 2-1 in the Centennial Conference, in a three-way tie for fourth place in the standings.
• The Blue Jays are now 17-7 all-time against the Garnet and has won four straight in the series.

• Sophomore Morgan Pothast totaled a career-high-tying three points on the day with a goal and an assist. Exactly on e year ago today, she tallied three points (1g, 1a) against Swarthmore at Homewood Field.
• Sophomore Greta Helvie finished with four saves in earning her fifth win of the season.
• Ainsley Parrish took the loss for the Garnet, making two saves and allowing the three goals. Zelda Bank came off the bench in the second half and made six saves without allowing a goal.
• Swarthmore also got a defensive save from Maggie O'Neil.
