? The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins field hockey team rallied from an early 1-0 deficit to defeat host Washington College, 3-1, in both teams' Centennial Conference opener Friday. Junior Victoria Piscopo scored the game-winner early in the second half.
How it Happened
? Washington College took the lead just 9:07 into the game when Allison Remenapp redirected a shot from Elizabeth Davis.
? Hopkins answered exactly 14 minutes later to tie the game. Sophomore Clare Kavanagh did the honors, scoring her first goal of the season.
? At the 44:48-mark in the second half, the Blue Jays took a 2-1 lead as Piscopo tipped a shot by sophomore Princess Sutherland that eluded Shorewomen goalie Morgan Domanico.
? Less than six minutes later, senior Shannon Parker made a defensive save on Alli Dudley to maintain Hopkins lead.
? Hopkins then added an insurance goal to push its lead to 3-1 at 58:48. Domanico made a save on Morgan Pothast but senior Leslie MacManus was there to put home the rebound.
