BRONX, NY- The #20 Johns Hopkins men's cross country team finished in sixth place at the Iona Meet of Champions, Saturday at Van Courtlandt Park in New York City.
Fourth-ranked Wisconsin won the event, finishing with 25 points and five of the top seven runners. Behind Wisconsin was #17 Arkansas (51 points), which claimed the top two finishers; Frankline Tonui and Christian Heysfield. The Blue Jays finished the 10-team event with 179 points.
Hopkins was led by Ryan Schwartz, who finished the 8,000-meter race in 25th place (27:08). Patrick Thorton finished ten seconds later and 27th overall out of 115 runners.
The Blue Jays will be back in action in two weeks at the Paul Short Invitation, hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.
