• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins women's swim team picked up a win in the final event of the night to beat host Loyola on Saturday at the Thomas Murphy Invitational. Hopkins dropped its other dual meet to Drexel.

Top Finishers • Loyola
• Hopkins started the meet with the first of its nine wins in 13 events versus Loyola in the 200 Free Relay in 1:38.78. Hopkins also placed third in the relay in 1:40.46.
• Sophomore Sami Kegel placed fifth in the 400 IM in 4:47.42 with freshman Lauren Parker taking sixth (4:51.20).
• Junior Anna Wisniewski then grabbed the first of her two individual wins as she took the top spot in the 100 Fly with a time of 58.43. Senior Abby Brown followed in third place with 59.07.
• Freshman Bailey Robertson and sophomore Emily Cheng then took second and third in the 200 Free. Robertson finished in 1:59.28, with Cheng following just 0.11 seconds later. • Junior Gwynnie LaMastra followed with a win in the 100 Breast, touching in 1:07.15. Junior Kaitlin Jones placed fourth in 1:08.25.
• Freshman Michelle Wang took the top spot in the 100 Back as she finished in 1:00.58, with classmate Sonia Lin following in second (1:00.84).
• Sophomore Rabia Syed then placed fourth in the 1650 Free with a time of 18:23.12 and senior Lindsay Kriz placed sixth (18:56.02).
• For the second time that day, Hopkins took first and third in a relay. Wang, LaMastra, Wisniewski and freshman Kristen Peterson won the 200 Medley Relay in 1:48.46. Sophomore Natalia Rincon, Lin, Brown and freshman Alison Shapiro took third in 1:49.61.
• Wang followed with a third-place finish in the 200 Back (2:07.46) with Kegel taking fifth in 2:11.66.
• The Blue Jays then swept the top three spots in the 100 Free. Wisniewski led the way with her winning time of 53.34, followed by Cowan (54.23) and Ward (54.50).
• LaMastra picked up her second win of the day as she clocked in at 2:26.66 in the 200 Breast. Jones followed just seven-hundredths of a second later for second place.
• Brown continued the win streak as she took the top spot in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:09.67. Chan placed fourth with a time of 2:13.18.
• Hopkins ended the day with a win and a fourth-place finish in the 400 Free Relay. Jones, Wisniewski, junior Lena Bless and Cowan won the relay by more than a second, finishing in 3:35.73. The team of Robertson, Ward, Shapiro and LaMastra placed fourth in 3:41.08. That secured the win for the Blue Jays over the 'Hounds.

• Hopkins opened the day with second and third-place finishes in the 200 Free Relay in 1:38.78 and 1:40.46, respectively.
• Kegel then took third in the 400 IM with a time of 4:47.42 and Parker followed in fourth place in 4:51.20.

• Wang, LaMastra, Wisniewski and Peterson combined for a second-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:48.46. The team of Rincon, Lin, Brown and Shapiro placed fourth in 1:49.61.
• Wang then grabbed a win for the Blue Jays in the 200 Back, touching in 2:07.46. Kegel followed in fifth place with a time of 2:11.66.
• Wisniewski followed with a second-place finish in the 100 Free as she clocked in at 53.34. Cowan placed fourth in 54.23.
• LaMastra and Jones then went two-three in the 200 Breast, finishing in 2:26.66 and 2:26.73, respectively.
• Brown placed third in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:09.67 and Chan took fourth in 2:13.18.
• Hopkins closed out the night with second and fourth-place finishes in the 400 Free Relay. Jones, Wisniewski, Bless and Cowan finished in 3:35.73 while Robertson, Ward, Shapiro and LaMastra finished in 3:41.08.

What it Means
• Johns Hopkins is now 13-5 all-time against Loyola and has won the last three meetings. This was the first-ever meeting between Hopkins and Drexel.
• The win was the first for head coach Scott Armstrong, who is in his first season at his alma mater.

• Johns Hopkins opens the home portion of its schedule on Friday, November 11. Hopkins will host Franklin & Marshall and Mary Washington at 6:00 pm at the Newton White Aquatic Center.
