? The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins women's basketball team fell 77-66 at Gettysburg Tuesday. Sophomore Lillian Scott led the Blue Jays with 18 points, while senior Caroline Corcoran added 15 points.
How it Happened
? The teams played a back-and-forth first quarter, with four ties and five lead changes before the Bullets earned a 21-17 lead at the end of the opening quarter. Lexie Scholtz started the game off with a layup just 0:06 into the first quarter. The Blue Jays found success from the three-point arc, with Caroline Corcoran, Madison McGrath and Marissa Varnado each adding in one in the opening quarter. Gettysburg, on the other hand, made only one three-pointer in the first quarter.
? The Blue Jays recorded the first points of the quarter yet again, as Lillian Scott scored a layup to cut Gettysburg's lead to 21-19. Corcoran scored her third basket of the quarter to close out the first half, cutting the Bullets' lead to 39-33 at the half and increasing her total to 10 points, the most by a JHU player in the half. Corcoran also led Hopkins with four rebounds in the first half.
? Gettysburg powered out to a 58-37 lead, using a 19-4 run to open the second half. The Blue Jays countered with the final 11 points of third quarter, with Maggie Wodicka and Elle Hepburn each adding back-to-back baskets to cut the deficit to 58-48 at the end of three quarters.
