• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins water polo team wrapped up the toughest two-week stretch in program history with a tough 16-2 loss to third-ranked Cal at the Princeton Invitational on Sunday. Six of the Blue Jays' seven opponents so far this season are Division I and ranked in the top 14 in the nation. Four of those opponents are ranked in the top 10, including two-time defending NCAA Champion and top-ranked UCLA.
How it Happened
• Cal scored the game's first six goals over the first quarter of action, thanks in part to a trio of five-meter goals – all of which came in a span of just 2:42.
• Hopkins opened the scoring in the second quarter when senior Matt Fraser buried a shot 1:29 into the stanza. However, the Bears answered with a nine-goal run that spanned nearly 14 minutes.
• Freshman Finn Banks ended Cal's run with a strike 3:42 into the fourth quarter, but the Bears finished off the scoring at 2:24 to account for the 16-2 final.
What it Means
• Johns Hopkins is now 0-5 all-time against Cal with this being the first meeting between the two since 2008.
• Hopkins has already faced six top-15 teams this season, the Blue Jays played eight all of last season.

• Senior Matt Fraser and freshman Finn Banks scored the Blue Jays' goals, while sophomores Josh Kurtz and Spencer Witte handed out assists.
• Senior Giovanni Cragnotti and sophomore Giorgio Cico led the team with two steals each, while freshman Andres White had a team-best three ejections drawn.
• Junior John Wilson finished with eight saves in three quarters, while Witte made three and grabbed four steals.
