• The Blue Jays' 4-2 record to begin the season is their best since they rattled off 16 straight wins to begin the 2012 season.
Coach's Corner
• Head coach Tim Cole: "We beat a team that was bigger and more physical than us, and we take that as a good sign about our training and systems. We were out of rhythm on offense a lot and gutted it out. Erica Johnston led us there, getting the best out of herself for what she had. Sarah Elnozahy has picked up some things quickly with her blocking and defense, so she had a few more nice moments than she did this weekend. Hannah Korslund will go down in my record book for the biggest freshman moment I've ever witnessed in my career - unknowingly playing the entire match wearing two right shoes. This is emblematic to the primary opportunity (and struggles) we've had so far - setting our focus on the appropriate horizon line for the present moment. The future is bright. We will see how fast we get to the next level and beyond. Our road grind continues at Eastern for a great end of preseason snapshot."
Player's Take
• Freshman Genevieve Thomas: "We struggled with our rhythm early, but then we played scrappier in the third set. We also took more risks offensively, which opened up our lead."
• Freshman Sarah Elnozahy: "We came out big tonight and played hard against a good, aggressive team. Each game we are getting one step closer to being the best team we can be, especially in terms of playing as hard as we train."
