• The Short Story: In its final dual meets of the season, the Johns Hopkins women team turned in numerous impressive swims. The Blue Jays combined for eight career best times, four NCAA provisional cuts and several swimmers swam their events for the first time in their career.
Top Finishers
• Hopkins opened the night with a second-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay versus Towson and a third-place finish versus Navy. The team of freshman Sonia Lin, junior Gwynnie LaMastra, senior Abby Brown and freshman Caroline Ward finished in 1:50.40. Freshman Michelle Wang, sophomore Phi Nguyen, freshman Lauren Harris and junior Lena DiPrizito finished in fourth place with a time of 1:52.00.
• Junior Lena Bless followed with a career-best time and a win in the 200 Free against Towson. She touched in 1:53.92 to win by more than a second.
• In the 100 Back, Harris placed third against the Tigers with a time of 1:00.20.
• LaMastra then took second place versus the Tigers and third against the Mids in the 100 Breast as she clocked in at 1:07.06. Freshman Maggie Jukes placed fourth with a career-best time of 1:07.54.
• Brown followed with a third-place finish and an NCAA provisional time in the 200 Fly as she touched in 2:07.49.
• Lin took third place in the 50 Free against Towson, and fourth against Navy, as she finished in 24.81. She just missed third against the Mids by one-hundredth of a second.
• In the 100 Free, the Blue Jays claimed the top two spots and three of the top four against the Tigers. Freshman Kiki Petersen led the way with a career-best time of 52.26. Junior Courtney Cowan finished in 52.62 and Bless touched in 52.86. Petersen's time was good for fourth place versus Navy.
• Junior Anna Wisniewski grabbed second place in the 200 Back as she posted an NCAA provisional cut as well as her career best time of 2:04.25.
• Junior Kaitlin Jones followed with a win in the 200 Breast as she clocked in at 2:19.88, an NCAA provisional time.
• LaMastra was the Jays' top finisher in the 500 Free as she placed fifth with a time of 5:17.95. It was her first time swimming the event.
• Wang then took third in the 100 Fly with a career-best time of 58.62.
• Wisniewski picked up a pair of wins in the 200 IM as she beat the field with an NCAA provisional time of 2:05.06. She won by 2.78 seconds over Navy's top finisher and nearly four seconds better than Towson's. • Hopkins ended the night by winning the 200 Free Relay. Petersen, Jones, LaMastra and Lin combined for the winning time of 1:37.03.
