Johns Hopkins Rallies To Defeat Dickinson, 3-2

Blue Jays Finish in Second Place in Centennial Conference

The Basics
• Score: #13 Johns Hopkins-3, Dickinson-2
• Records: JHU (13-3-1, 7-2-0 CC) • DC (10-5-2, 5-3-1 CC)
• Location: Carlisle, PA • Miller Memorial Field
• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins men's soccer team twice rallied from a one-goal deficit to defeat host Dickinson, 3-2, in both teams' regular season finale Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
• Hopkins found itself trailing for the first time since the 38th minute versus Gettysburg on September 23. Kevin Gilbert put Dickinson up with the first of his two goals in the 26th minute.
• The lead was short-lived however as Hopkins answered with a goal from junior Liam Moylan just seven minutes later. Senior Sebastian Salathe took a pass from sophomore RJ Moore and crossed it to Moylan. He took several touches, beat a couple of defenders and slotted it past Frederick Meagher.
• The teams looked to be heading into the half tied at one, but Gilbert had other ideas. He intercepted a Blue Jay pass, dribbled to the top of the box and fired a shot past sophomore Xander LeFevre with just 50 seconds left to put the Red Devils up 2-1.
• Hopkins drew level in the 56th minute when sophomore Pablo Martinez dropped a pass back to senior Griffin Cyphers near the top of the Dickinson box. Cyphers took a touch and then beat Meagher to the right post to make it a 2-2 game.
• Twenty-one minutes later, the Blue Jays grabbed their first lead of the game. From near the left end line, Martinez sent a cross to sophomore Alejandro Maclean, who one-touched the pass inside the right post in the 77th minute.

What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 35-17-5 all-time against Dickinson and is unbeaten (3-0-2) in the last five meetings.
• The Blue Jays secure the number two seed in next week's Centennial Conference Tournament with the win. Hopkins runs its unbeaten streak to nine games (8-0-1) entering the postseason.

• Hopkins outshot Dickinson, 19-8, and corners were even at two apiece.
