• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins volleyball team dropped a heartbreaking five-set match to Arcadia on Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened
SET 1
• Hopkins got out to a quick 5-0 lead in the opening set but a 4-0 Knights run later in the set brought them to with one point of the Blue Jays at 8-7.
• With the score 11-10, the Blue Jays scored four-straight points to take a 15-10 lead.
• After two points from Arcadia made the score 15-12, JHU scored the next three points to go up by six.
• The Knights got to within three at 19-16, however, the Blue Jays held on, scoring the sets final three points, capped by a kill from
Louisa Kishton to win the set, 25-19.
SET 2
• Trailing 2-0, Arcadia went on a 4-0 run to pull ahead by two.
• Hopkins got even at eight on a kill from
Esther Hong, but the Knights regained the lead on an attack error.
• With the Knights leading 10-9, JHU went on a 3-0 run to take a 12-10 lead, but Arcadia tied it right back up at 12 with two straight points. Â
• Three-straight points by the Knights gave them a 16-15 advantage, but Hopkins used a 3-0 run of its own to take an 18-16 lead.
• JHU scored four of the sets final six points as a kill from
Sasha Gorelik gave JHU set point at 25-21.
SET 3
• Arcadia got out to a 5-2 advantage in the third set, however, a 5-0 Hopkins run put the Blue Jays ahead 8-6.
• Trailing 10-9, the Knights scored four of the next six points to go up by one, 13-12.

Simone Bliss tied the match at 13 with a kill as the Blue Jays scored three of the next five points to pull ahead by one at 16-15.
• Arcadia went on a 4-1 run to take a 19-17 lead and scored the sets' final three points to win the set, 25-22.
SET 4
• Trailing by one (12-11), Johns Hopkins went on a 3-1 run to take a 14-13 lead, however, Arcadia scored the next two points to go up 15-14. A Kill from
Michelle Abt tied the match, but the Knights scored five of the next six points to go up 20-16.
• A service error by Arcadia made the score 23-21, but the Blue Jays could not get any closer as the home team scored the sets final two points to win the set 25-21.
SET 5
• With the set tied at three, Hopkins went on a 4-1 run to take a 7-4 lead.
• Arcadia used a 5-0 run of its own to take a 12-10 lead and the Knights would hold on to win the set, 15-13 and take the match 3-2.
What it Means
• The Blue Jays hold a 2-1 all-time record against the Knights.
• This is the first five-set loss for the Blue Jays this season.
Inside the Box Score
• Abt had a career-high with 23 digs while Hong recorded a career-best 56 assists. 56 assists.
• Kishton recorded her second straight double-double with 21 kills and a career-best 28 digs. Abt also notched a double-double with 23 digs and 11 kills.
• The Blue Jays finished with a team hitting percentage of .234 while the Knights hit just .179 as a team.

• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins volleyball team dropped a tough four-set match to Susquehanna on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Arcadia University.
How it Happened
SET 1
• A 7-1 run put the River Hawks up 11-7 in the opening set but the Blue Jays went on a 4-1 run to get to within one at 12-11, however, Susquehanna followed with two points of its own to go up by three.
• JHU then scored six consecutive points to go up 17-14.
• The River Hawks scored four of five points later in the set to pull within one at 20-19, however, the Blue Jays were able to hold on as kills from Bliss and
Eleni Panagopoulos gave JHU a 25-22 win.
SET 2
• With Hopkins leading 9-6 the River Hawks scored the next four points to go up 10-9, but the Blue Jays scored the next three to take a 12-10 advantage.
• The River Hawks tied the match at 14 on a kill from Kody Dillon but Kishton put the Blue Jays back up one with a kill of her own.
• Susquehanna then scored eight of the next 10 points to go up 21-17, and after JHU scored three straight to make the score 23-21, the River Hawks scored the next two points to win set two, 25-21.
SET 3
• With the two teams knotted at three, the River Hawks went on a 5-0 run to take an 8-3 lead.
• Susquehanna continued to build on its lead and an 8-0 run brought the River Hawks' lead to 22-9 as they went on to win the third set, 25-15.
SET 4
• Down 14-9, Hopkins scored five of the next six points to get to within one at 15-14.
• The River Hawks responded, scoring four of five to go up by four, 19-15.
• With the score 20-16 in favor of Susquehanna, Johns Hopkins went on a 5-1 run to tie up the set at 21, but the River Hawks scored four of the next five points to win the set 25-22 and claim the 3-1 victory. Â
What it Means
• The River Hawks lead all-time series is 6-4.
• This is the first time JHU has lost back-to-back games since 2016.
Inside the Box Score
• Bliss recorded double-doubles with 19 kills and 17 digs.
• Hong had 41 assists in the match while Kishton finished with 10 digs and eight kills.
• Abt finished the match with 10 kills, nine digs and two blocks.
