BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins women's soccer team will host the 2018 NCAA Division III Regional at Homewood Field for the 10th time in the last 11 years as the Blue Jays are making their 14th straight trip to the tournament and 17th trip overall. JHU will host Cabrini, Rowan, and Misericordia on November 10 and 11.
 
Saturday's first round matches will be played at 5 pm and 7:30 pm with the second round match being played at 6 pm on Sunday. Hopkins and Cabrini will play the 5 pm game on Saturday, followed by Misericordia and Rowan at 7:30 pm. JHU is 1-0-0 against Cabrini in the tournament and 1-0-1 against Rowan. JHU has never faced Misericordia in the tournament. Tickets will be $6 for adults; $3 for senior citizens, youth (aged 3-12) and students from participating schools (with student IDs). Children ages two and younger will be admitted free of charge. Gates will open one hour prior to start time on both days.
 
The Blue Jays earned an at-large bid to the tournament after falling to Swarthmore in the Centennial Conference Tournament Final. Hopkins finished the regular season with a 10-0 Centennial record and is currently 17-2 overall.  JHU is ranked fourth in the country and is led by graduate student Michelle Santangelo (12g, 27 pts.) and freshman Rachel Jackson (11g, 27 pts.). Johns Hopkins leads the Centennial Conference in goals (60) and also boasts one of the league's best defense allowing just 0.79 goals per game as Robyn Lipschultz leads the way with a 12-2 overall record with five shutouts this season. Hopkins advanced to the Elite Eight last season, before falling to Williams College, 3-0.
 
JHU will play Cabrini in the first game as the Cavaliers earned a Pool-B bid to the tournament. Cabrini enters the game with a 10-5-1 record after falling to Immaculata in the semifinal of the Atlantic East Conference Tournament. The Cavaliers are led by Katelyn Gilinger (4g, 13pts.) and Alex Garces (5g, 12 pts). Cabrini and the Blue Jays have two common opponents this season in Bryn Mawr and Washington College. The Cavilers defeated the Owls, 2-1 and fell to the Shorewomen, 3-0. Hopkins defeated Bryn Mawr 12-0 and Washington College 4-1. The Cavaliers are making their ninth trip and second straight appearance in the tournament
 
Misericordia (15-2-1) earned an automatic bid after winning the MAC Freedom Championships for a third straight season with a 2-1 victory over Wilkes. The Panthers enter the tournament on a 10-game winning streak with their last loss coming on September 22 to Messiah (1-0). Misericordia is led by Jenna Orfanos (9g, 23 pts.) and Hannah Larkin (8g, 21 pts.) on the offensive side of the ball while Alexis Benedetto has allowed just nine goals this season and has recorded eight shutout victories. The Panthers have made eight straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament and 12 overall.
 
Rowan (13-3-2) received an at-large bid as the Prof are making their fourth straight appearance and 14th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Rowan fell in the NJAC final to TCNJ, 1-0 in overtime. Hopkins defeated the Lions 1-0 earlier in year and TCNJ is the only common opponent between the two schools. The Profs also fell to TCNJ during the regular season, 2-1. Daria Jones leads Rowan with 36 points on the season (15 goals, 6 assists) while Darah Wagner has tallied 24 points this season on 10 goals and four assists. Shelby Money has allowed just seven goals this season and has posted eight shutouts this year.
