• The Short Story: The 22nd-ranked Johns Hopkins men's basketball team raced out to a 17-0 lead and didn't look back in a 70-52 win at Haverford in both teams' regular season finale Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
• Hopkins made six of its first seven shots from the field, including five from downtown, to race out to a 17-0 lead in the game's first four minutes.
• Joe Scibelli finally got Haverford on the board at the 15:57-mark with a three and the teams traded buckets over the ensuing five-and-a-half minutes. Kyle Goldfarb got the first back-to-back buckets for the Fords at the midway point of the half to make it an 11-point game, 22-11.
• Junior Daniel Vila answered with a three-point play, followed by a layup from classmate Noah Ralby. Vila capped the seven-point spurt with a bucket in the paint to stake Hopkins to an 18-point lead with 7:51 to go in the half.
• Scibelli and Kahlil Garnes then sank consecutive triples to spark a 15-3 run that saw the Fords trim the deficit to just six with 12 ticks on the clock. Freshman Conner Delaney got two points back with a pull-up jumper with 5.5 seconds left to send Hopkins into the break with a 34-26 lead.
• After trading baskets to open the second half, Delaney hit a layup to ignite another quick 7-0 run as the Blue Jays pushed out to a 43-28 lead with 16:04 on the clock. The teams went back-and-forth for more than 14 minutes as the lead never dipped below 11 points. After a pair of Scibelli free throws with 1:28 to play, sophomore Ted Murren hit a three from the corner and then got a bucket in the paint to make it a 70-52 final.

What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 74-38 all-time against Haverford and swept the season series with the Fords.
• The Blue Jays grab a share of the Centennial Conference regular season title with the win, their first since the 2014-15 season. Swarthmore earned the top seed in the conference tournament by virtue of a tiebreaker, Hopkins will be the number two seed.
• Hopkins' 21 wins are tied for the third most in school history and the 11-game win streak is also tied for the third longest.

Inside the Box Score
• Freshman Joey Kern led all scorers with 15 points, going 5-of-8 from the field and 4-of-6 from downtown. He also dished four assists and grabbed a career-best six steals. With his third three of the game, at the 16:49-mark, he broke Luke Busby's record for three-pointers by a freshman (51). Kern already holds the record for three-point attempts by a freshman.
• Senior Kyle Doran and junior Michael Gardner finished with 10 points apiece, while Gardner also grabbed eight rebounds. Delaney handed out a game-high six helpers and now has 106 on the season, which ranks seventh in school history.
• Scibelli led the Fords with 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Jesse Turkson scored 12 points and blocked a pair of shots. Garnes also finished in double figures, chipping in 11 points.
