Â
How it Happened
• Hopkins controlled much of the play in the game, but the skies opened up 10 minutes in and with 6:09 remaining in the first half, play was halted due to lightning. After a delay that last nearly two hours, play resumed.
• The Blue Jays continued to pressure the Generals' defense, but goalie Ariyel Yavalar kept the home team off the board through regulation.
• Junior
Katie McErlean had a golden chance on a breakaway just 30 seconds into the overtime, but her shot just missed wide of the cage. At the midway point of the period, senior
Grace Hillman intercepted a W&L pass at midfield and played a long ball to Corvi. She took the pass, dribbled into the circle, eluded a defender and slotted a shot inside the right post to end the game.
