CoSIDA Academic All-District Volleyball Team
Â
BALTIMORE, MD – For the third time in her career, senior
Louisa Kishton was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for District II. With the honor, Kishton is now only the second three-time Academic All-District selection in Johns Hopkins volleyball history (Allison Cappelaere, 2007-09).
Â
To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, be a sophomore or above and play a significant role on he or she's respective team.
Â
A Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering major, the senior outside hitter sports a 3.97 grade point average and was selected as one of the seven All-District honorees for District II, which represents all Division III schools in Connecticut, Washington D.C., Delaware, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia.
Â
Outside of the court and classroom, Kishton has also interned at Nirmidas Biotech where she designed, performed and analyzed experiments. She was also a team leader as Camp Galileo: Innovation Camps for Kids and has coached middle school volleyball.
Â
Kishton will now go on the ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors and look to repeat as an Academic All-American after being named a Third Team selection in 2018. It was the first time a Blue Jay had ever been named a CoSIDA Academic All-American. The team will be announced on December 12.
