LANCASTER, PA – The Johns Hopkins football team, which will carry a 7-3 record into this week's Centennial-MAC Bowl Series game at Stevenson, placed 10 players on the 2019 All-Centennial Conference Football Team, which was announced today.  This is the 19^th consecutive year that Johns Hopkins has had at least eight players named to the team and the 11^th consecutive year that at least nine Blue Jays have landed a spot on the team.
 
Of the 10 players named to the team, four earned first team honors, three earned second team status and three were honorable mention selections.  In addition, junior wide receiver Dawson Aichholz was named to the Centennial Football All-Sportsmanship team; he was the only non-senior, non-graduate student named to the all-sportsmanship team.
 
Earning first team honors are senior offensive lineman Joe Figueora, senior defensive lineman Mike Kalanik, junior defensive back Macauley Kilbane and sophomore wide receiver Harrison Wellmann.
 
Second team selections for the Blue Jays include senior quarterback David Tammaro, junior linebacker Ryan Weed and junior wide receiver Ryan Hubley.  Senior offensive lineman Frank Petracco, senior defensive lineman Corey Tull and senior place-kicker Mike Eberle round out JHU' All-Centennial selections as they earned honorable mention status.
 
Figueroa, Petracco Earn Repeat Honor on Offensive Line
Figueroa and Petracco both repeated the honors they received as juniors with Figueroa back on the first team and Petracco an honorable mention selection for the second consecutive year.
Figueroa becomes the 14^th Johns Hopkins player – and third offensive lineman – to earn First Team All-Centennial honors three times.
Petracco teamed with Figueroa to give the Blue Jays a strong tandem at guard and their selection to the all-conference team marks the 12^th consecutive year that two or more Johns Hopkins offensive linemen earned All-Centennial honors.
With Figueroa and Petracco leading the way, Johns Hopkins is averaging 34.9 points and 454.4 yards per game.  The Blue Jays rank third in the Centennial in scoring offense, first in total offense and first in passing offense (324.8).
 
Kalanik Honored for Third Time, Tull a First-Time Honoree on Defensive Line
Kalanik further etched his name in the Blue Jay record book with his selection to the All-Centennial Team.  He becomes the sixth Johns Hopkins defensive lineman in school history to earn All-CC honors three times after he grabbed first team as a sophomore and second team as a junior.
Working from his spot at defensive end, Kalanik leads the team in sacks (6.5) and tackles for losses (15.5) and ranks fourth in overall tackles (53).  He has 187 career tackles to his credit and is Johns Hopkins' career leader in tackles for loss (59.5) and sacks (28.5).
Tull has enjoyed a standout first season as a starter on the interior of the Blue Jay defensive line.  He counts 37 tackles, including 3.0 for loss and 2.0 sacks, to his credit.  With one game remaining, he now has career totals of 58 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks.
 
Record-Breaking Tammaro Honored for Second Time
Tammaro adds this year's second team selection to last season's nod to the first team.  On the year, Tammaro is 232-of-364 for 2,911 yards with 22 touchdowns against just five interceptions.  He has also rushed for 296 yards and seven scores; he leads the Centennial in passing yards per game (291.1) and total offense per game (320.7).
With one game remaining in his career, Tammaro is already JHU's career leader in touchdown passes (82), overall touchdowns responsible for (102), total offense (10,986) and 200-yard passing games (33).
 
Kilbane Repeats on First Team
Kilbane is making his second consecutive appearance on the first team.  He counts 41 tackles, nine pass breakups, three blocked kicks and one interception to his credit this season.  Kilbane, the first Johns Hopkins cornerback to earn First Team All-Centennial honors in back-to-back seasons, has 135 tackles, 21 pass breakups, seven interceptions and four blocked kicks in his career.  His 21 career PBUs rank third among Johns Hopkins players since 2000.
 
Wellmann, Hubley Continue Wide Receiver Roll for Johns Hopkins
Johns Hopkins placed two wide receivers on the All-Centennial team for the fourth consecutive year and the seventh time since 2004.
Wellmann, one of just five players in the league to be a unanimous first team selection, has emerged as the most dangerous receiver in the Centennial as he has 72 receptions for 1,106 yards and 11 touchdowns on the year.  He leads the Centennial in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown receptions and also leads the league in all-purpose yards per game (157.9).  In addition, his 25.8 yards per kickoff return (18-465) rank second in the league and he was the only sophomore in the CC to earn first team honors on offense.
Hubley, who earned First Team All-Centennial honors last season as a sophomore, earned a second team nod despite missing the last four games of the season.  Despite the missed time, he still tied for fourth in the league in receptions (41) and ranked ninth in receiving yards (497).  He pushed his career totals to 153 receptions for 1,729 yards and 11 touchdowns with his performance this season.
 
Eberle Latest Kicker to be Honored
For the 12^th time since 2001, the Blue Jays' place-kicker lands a spot on the All-Centennial Team with Eberle's honorable mention selection.  In just his second year kicking, Eberle is 9-of-15 on field goals and has hit 42-of-44 extra points for 69 points thus far.  His nine field goals are tied for the 10^th highest single-season total in school history and tied for the most in the league this season.
 
Weed Grabs Second Team Honors at Linebacker
Weed is making his first appearance on the All-Centennial Team with his selection on the second team.  He ranks second on the team in tackles with 67 and has 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, five pass breakups and two interceptions.  His 67 tackles this season are a career high and give him 103 in his career and his selection to the team marks the 27^th consecutive year that at least one Johns Hopkins linebacker has landed on the All-Centennial Team.
