LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins men's basketball senior guard Michael Gardner has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week for his performance in last week's wins over Franklin & Marshall and Haverford.
 
Gardner led the Blue Jays with a career-high-tying 30 points, going 9-of-16 from the field, including 6-o-10 from three, in the win in Lancaster. He also tallied six rebounds, two assists and two steals versus the Diplomats. He followed that with 12 points, three rebounds, six assists and a steal in the win over Haverford on Saturday night. For the week, Gardner shot 50% (13-of-26) from the floor and 52.9% (9-of-17) from three-point range.
 
Hopkins ended the regular season with a 17-8 overall record and a 14-4 mark in the Centennial Conference. The Blue Jays finished second in the conference standings and will take on the third-seeded Ursinus Bears in the semifinals on Friday night at Swarthmore. Tip-off at Tarble Pavilion is slated for 6:00 pm.
